TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A Poughkeepsie man was arrested by Town Police following a physical domestic incident at an apartment at 33 Kelsey Road.
A 12-year-old girl called the police to report the altercation between a boyfriend and girlfriend, both of whom live in the apartment. The girl is the daughter of the victim, while the victim and her boyfriend have a six-month-old daughter. Both children were present at the time of the 4 a.m. incident on December 17.
The investigation revealed Isai Rosado Martinez, 32, had assaulted and choked his girlfriend. He was charged with felony strangulation and misdemeanors of obstructing breathing or blood circulation and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
A temporary full stay away order of protection was served on Martinez.
