Newburgh-Beacon Bridge remains the traffic and revenue leader

HIGHLAND – The number of vehicle crossings on the five bridges over the Hudson River operated by the New York State Bridge Authority in the first six months of the year was up over the same period last year.
Total revenue also increased in the first half of the year.
The greatest increase in traffic was experienced on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge with a 1.79 percent increase. Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge traffic rose by 1.06 percent while Rip Van Winkle Bridge traffic increased by 1.02 percent.
Mid-Hudson Bridge traffic increased 0.62 percent over the first half of 2017 and Bear Mountain Bridge traffic rose by 0.21 percent.
The greatest increase in revenue during the first six months was on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, at 1.49 percent. That was followed by the Mid-Hudson Bridge with a 1.08 percent increase.
Newburgh-Beacon Bridge revenue rose by 0.88 percent while Rip Van Winkle traffic was up by 0.59 percent.
Only the Bear Mountain Bridge saw a decline in revenue by 0.48 percent.
In total for the first half of the year, agency revenue increased by 0.83 percent, from $27,772,619 in 2017 to $28,003,351 this year.
Total crossings increased by 1.15 percent, from 30,214,806 in 2017 to 30,863,416 in the first six months of 2018.
