NEWBURGH- Seven people have been displaced by a Saturday morning fire that took place at 24 City Terrace in the City of Newburgh.

Firefighters arrived at the scene minutes after being notified of the fire.  Firefighters conducted a search of the first floor to confirm no inhabitants were inside; however, two people had escaped the blaze on their own and were found in the rear yard.

Crews extinguished the fire and the two individuals who escaped were transported by Empress Ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital with non-line threatening injuries.

Mutual aid response was provided by the West Point, Air National Guard, Cronomer Valley, Good Will, and Middlehope fire departments.
