Detectives looking for witnesses at the April 30 shooting in Poughkeepsie.

POUGHKEEPSIE – Police are looking for a black man who was wearing a gray hoodie with the hood up and a COVID mask when he is believed to have shot two teenagers near Poughkeepsie High School Tuesday afternoon.

A 17-year-old Poughkeepsie youth sustained a gunshot wound to the neck. He was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and was expected to recover, police said Wednesday.

A second young man, 19, was also shot and got to another area hospital by personal vehicle. He, too, suffered from a gunshot wound to the neck and was expected to recover.

Police recovered several shell casings from the scene.

The investigation is continuing, and police ask anyone with information to contact Poughkeepsie City Police at 845-451-7577.
