CRAWFORD – Following a seven-month investigation into a fatal head-on crash on Route 17K near Youngblood Road in the Town of Crawford, a Bronx man was charged by State Police with criminally negligent homicide.
On September 23, 2023, a two-car crash led to the death of Gerald Filcher, 64, of Bloomingburg.
He was driving a Toyota pickup truck when a box truck driven by Marcos Medina, 34, crossed into the opposite lane on Route 17K and struck Filcher’s vehicle.
Following his arraignment, Medina was released on his own recognizance and ordered to appear at the Orange County Department of Probation and was also scheduled to appear in Crawford Town Court.
