Criminals in Mount Vernon target Hondas and Acuras

MOUNT VERNON – Police are investigating an auto theft pattern in the City of Mount Vernon.
Criminals are targeting 1992 to 1999 Honda and Acura vehicles.
All patrol units have been instructed to have heightened awareness to those types of cars while on patrol and spot check those types of vehicles that are being driven.
Authorities advise motorists to always lock their vehicles, keep windows up, hide valuables and purchase an auto alarm system.
Anyone who sees something unusual or suspicious behavior is asked to call the Mount Vernon Police Department.
