SOMERS – A Brewster man was killed Tuesday in a single car crash on Route 100 in Somers.
State Police identified the victim as 66-year-old Mark Frey.
Troop K Public Information Officer Trooper AJ Hicks said at 3:40 p.m., a patrol initiated a traffic stop of a 2019 Nissan Altima for failure to maintain a lane.
“The operator failed to comply and was pursued for a short distance before the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree,” Hicks said.
Frey was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Hicks said the investigation remains ongoing.
