BEACON: The Bannerman Castle Trust is celebrating its 30th year and received the Duchess Tourism Award of Excellence for best events in 2023. The trust’s Executive  Director Neil Caplan said Bannerman Island has a long and storied past.

“Bannerman Island was built by Frank Bannerman VI In 1901. It looked like a park when he when he built it.”

Caplan spoke about what is new on the island and the upcoming season, which will be open to the public starting on Saturday. April 27th.
“The Bannerman Castle Trust exists as a preservation for Bannerman Castle and to do theatrical events on the island. This year we’re doing ‘Driving Miss Daisy’ and we’re doing ‘Always Patsy Cline’ about Patsy Cline and many more shows.”
