Three arrested in Kingston on drug charges

KINGSTON – A Kingston couple and a Long Island man were arrested on Wednesday evening in the City of Kingston on drug charges.
The URGENT Task Force arrested the driver, Akeem Smith, 32, of Freeport, and passengers Shaelynn Every, 21, and Angelo Romanelli, 24, both of Kingston.
Police stopped their car for a traffic infraction in Kingston and found approximately 20 grams of loosely packaged heroin. They were all charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child as an 18-month-old baby was in the vehicle at the time.  Smith was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failing to signal a turn.
Smith is in the Ulster County Jail without bail.  Every and Romanelli were held in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
