MONTICELLO- A second Republican candidate has formally kicked off a campaign for the 100th Assembly District seat being vacated at the end of the year by long-time Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther.

Camille O’Brien will face off in a GOP primary against Louis Ingrassia Jr.

O’Brien said she will be on the primary ballot on the Republican line but will appear on the November Conservative line.

O’Brien says that on the local level, you have to be bipartisan and it’s not about being labeled a Republican or a Democrat, it’s about working with the community.

“There’s no partisanship on water systems or any infrastructure project. It’s a bipartisan issue when you want to get a bridge fixed,” she said.

O’Brien says being of service to the community is the most important thing to her.

“I’m not inaccessible. I am a normal community person and I enjoy being of service. People can call my office and reach out to me and if they see me on the street, you can walk right up to me,” she said.

Paula Elaine Kay is running on the Democratic line in the general election.
