Fire damages vacant building in Newburgh

NEWBURGH – A Three-alarm
fire early Monday morning damaged a two-story, wood frame building at
253 First Street in Newburgh.
The fire was called in shortly after 4:15 a.m. with flames shooting through the roof when firefighters arrived.  One firefighter sustained a sprained ankle.
The cause is under investigation.
Vails Gate, Central Valley and West Point fire departments assisted.
