POUGHKEEPSIE – Police Chief Ronald Knapp has been given another 90 days to serve as acting Poughkeepsie city administrator while Mayor Robert Rolison continues his search for a permanent administrator.
Rolison said he is narrowing down the search for the top appointed post.
“It is our hope that we are in the final stages of the city administrator search,” the mayor said. “One of the most important thing in keeping Mr. Knapp on in that position is that he will help with a transition, which is something we are not going to rush.”
Poughkeepsie is also in the market for a new finance commissioner and the mayor is screening applicants for that post as well.
