GARDINER – The powerful storm that hit Gardiner Friday night ripping
out trees and downing utility poles with its strong winds was a microburst,
the National Weather Service said Monday.
Winds of between 90 and 100 miles per hour tore through an area of only about 2.25 miles.
A NWS team assessed the damage Monday afternoon and confirmed the microburst
with straight line wind damage.
There were no reports of injuries.
