BEACON – A caller to 911 Thursday night just before 11 p.m. reported that someone may have been shot on the basketball courts in the Davies Terrace housing complex in the City of Beacon. Police were dispatched to the area while the caller, who was out of breath, provided limited information, other than to say they believed a 19-year-old friend had been shot.
The caller reported hearing six gunshots in the area.
EMS was also dispatched but advised to stage away from the area until police were able to secure the scene.
Police located a victim, secured the scene, and made way for the ambulance to proceed in for the victim.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office was assisting Beacon police at the scene.
