These old structures will finally disappear

NEW WINDSOR – Those 10 unsightly old World War II barracks along International Boulevard leading into Stewart Airport will be razed.
The Town of New Windsor will issue a request for proposals to have them torn down at an estimated cost of some $300,000, said Town Supervisor George Green.
“The buildings are condemned,” Green said.  “When buildings are condemned, you can just knock them down into themselves and actually take them away to a landfill with the asbestos and there is little asbestos in there that it’s really not a concern.”
There has been one inquiry already for a tenant on the property and that came from a hotel developer.
