CATSKILL – In an effort to help fight crime and drug activities in the Hop-O-Nose Homes development in the Village of Catskill, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded $45,000 to the Catskill Housing Authority. The money will be used to install a security camera system.
This grant is one of just two in the state, the other to the New York City Housing Authority.
HUD’s Capital Fund Emergency Safety and Security Program supports public housing authorities as they address safety and security threats that pose a risk to the health and safety of the public housing community.
The grants may be used to install, repair, or replace capital needs items including security systems/surveillance cameras, fencing, lighting systems, emergency alarm systems, window bars, deadbolt locks and doors.
