TOWN OF NEWBURGH – The New York State Lottery decided earlier this year to close the Fishkill Customer Service Center permanently as of March 29, 2024. Customers with winning lottery tickets under $250,000 in the Hudson Valley region will now have to travel to the Resorts World Hudson Valley Casino at the former Newburgh Mall to collect their winnings.

The two employees at the Fishkill office did not win any prizes and are seeking new positions in the workforce.

A lottery official told Mid-Hudson News on Monday that the decision to close the Fishkill office permanently on March 29 was made earlier this year.  “Resorts World Hudson Valley is a licensed video operator.  All such facilities across the state have the ability to process lottery claims,” the official said, noting that the shift to the Newburgh casino was made because “The cost of operating the branch outweighs the decreasing number of customers patronizing the Fishkill location, especially when a more convenient location with expanded hours is nearby.”

Resorts World Hudson Valley offers expanded claim center hours:

Monday thru Saturday: 10 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Sunday: Noon – 9:30 p.m.

Individuals must be 21 or older to claim a prize at this location.

The lottery official also noted that Jackpot prize claims, including Mega Millions prizes over $500,000 or Powerball prizes of $50,000 and over will be processed at the Lottery’s Schenectady office.
