MONTICELLO – The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory in effect from 9 a.m. today to 7 p.m.
Southwest winds 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 454 mph are expected.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result, the NWS said.
The strongest winds will be in the afternoon, favoring higher elevation areas.
Saturated soil may also make it easier for tree damage to occur.
