Putnam sheriff emphasizes need to stay vigilant

CARMEL – In the wake of the mass killings in Maine and the discovery Friday of discovery of suspect Robert Card found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Putnam County Sheriffs Kevin McConville emphasized the importance of staying vigilant and reporting any suspicious activity immediately.

“Your safety is our top priority, and we rely on your help to maintain a secure community,” he said.

In an emergency, call 911, and “if you notice anything unusual or have concerns about someone’s behavior, please don’t hesitate to contact our office at 845-225-4300.

McConville said his department has “dedicated personnel ready to receive your calls and address potential threats.” He said residents can also use the county’s threat assessment website, https://pctam.net, to report any suspicious activity.
