KINGSTON-  Ulster County Clerk Nina Postupack is pleased to welcome Hank Yost, World War II reenactor, to the Matthewis Persen House Museum on Saturday, September 2, 2023, for a special presentation.  The museum is conveniently located at 74 John Street in uptown Kingston, at the corner of John and Crown Streets. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.

Join us on Saturday, September 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., for an exclusive V-J Day presentation led by Hank Yost, delving into the significance of Victory over Japan Day and its role in ending World War II.  This event will offer insights into the historic announcement of Japan’s unconditional surrender by President Harry S. Truman on August 14, 1945, and its worldwide celebratory response.  Mr. Yost will also shed light on societal changes within the United States during that time.  Engaging discussions will take place throughout the day, and everyone is welcome to participate.

“Hank Yost brings history to life, and we are excited to welcome him back to the Persen House for his second presentation of the season,” expressed County Clerk Nina Postupack.  “His dedication to accurately portraying the people and events around this momentous day in history is a valuable resource for the whole community.”
