MID-HUDSON – Demand for all types of homes in the region remains high, according to the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors.

In all counties, single-family home sales are down, but condo sales are up in some areas.

In Westchester, single-family home sales in March dropped by 14.3 percent and condos were down by 12.8 percent.

Single-family homes decreased by 16.4 percent.

Rockland County saw an uptick in condo sales at 8.6 percent, but single-family home sales fell by 15.3 percent.

In Orange County, single-family and condo sales fell by 28 percent.

Sullivan County, the most affordable in the region, saw single-family home sales fall by 8.3 percent.

Home prices increased though, with the highest increase in single-family homes was in Putnam, at 19 percent, followed by Orange County with a 13 percent hike.

In Westchester, prices rose by 4.2 percent, while in Putnam they increased by 19 percent.

Home sales rose in Rockland County by 9.3 percent, in Orange County by 13.2 percent, and in Sullivan, by 6.4 percent.

The best deals can still be found in Sullivan, where an average single-family home sold for $290,000. That compared to Westchester, at the high end, at $758,000.

In Putnam, the average selling price was $547,450; in Rockland at $699,500; and in Orange at $427,500.
