Dutchess Sheriff announces promotions

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Sheriff Kirk Imperati announced several promotions of members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.  The promoted staff are from both the law enforcement side of the department as well as the corrections division. 

Sheriff Imperati said, “As a result of their diligence, dedication, and strong leadership,  several members have earned promotions within the Sheriff’s Office. I congratulate and  wish them success on their achievements, and I look forward to continuing to work with  them as they serve Dutchess County in their new positions.” 

Law Enforcement Division 

Sergeant Ryan Petrus was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Petrus is assigned to the Patrol Bureau as a shift commander and a supervisor for the K9 Unit. 

Detective James Daniels was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Daniels is assigned as an administrative sergeant supervising the Records Bureau and evidence management. 

Deputy Sheriff Nicholas Yereance was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.  Yereance is assigned to the Patrol Bureau as a shift supervisor and a supervisor for the Crash  Investigation Unit. 

Deputy Sheriff Christopher Myers was promoted to the rank of Detective.  Myers is assigned to the Detective Bureau – Criminal Investigations. 

Deputy Sheriff Priscilla Aponte was promoted to the rank of Detective. Aponte is assigned to the Detective Bureau – Criminal Investigations. 

Deputy Sheriff Jared Griffin was promoted to the rank of Detective. Griffin is assigned to the Detective Bureau – Criminal Investigations.

Corrections Division 

Correction Sergeant Sheena Walsh was promoted to the rank of Correction Lieutenant. Walsh is assigned to supervise programs for incarcerated individuals including the  RESTART (Re-Entry Supportive Transition and Reintegration Track) Program. 

Correction Officer James O’Brien was promoted to the rank of Correction Sergeant. O’Brien is assigned as a supervisor within the county jail. 

Corrections Officer Peter Fluker was promoted to the rank of Correction Sergeant. Fluker is assigned as a supervisor within the county jail and a member of CERT  (Correctional Emergency Response Team). 

Sheriff Imperati concluded, “Every day, members of the Law Enforcement and  Corrections Divisions selflessly serve our communities and provide protection and service to all of us. I want to thank all of them for their unwavering commitment to helping keep Dutchess County safe.”
