POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County has launched a new Veterans Microgrant Program. The program offers one-time grants to local non-profit veteran’s organizations and municipalities to enhance activities and programming that address veterans needs or recognize the service of local veterans.

Grant applications are now available online at dutchessny.gov/veterans and will be accepted on a rolling basis while funds are available.

Funding will be available in grant awards up to $15,000 per organization or municipality. It can be used for purchases or needs, including equipment, resources, or other one-time expenses to help enhance program offerings, as well as make the program more accessible for veterans.

“Dutchess County remains fervent in our dedication to preserving the legacy and enhancing the lives of the brave men and women who have protected our county and our nation,” said County Executive Marc Molinaro. “The county’s new Veterans Microgrant Program will ensure our local communities and organizations can continue to offer the vital services and programs on which many local heroes rely and enjoy. I encourage local eligible organizations to apply for our new Veterans Microgrants to help enhance the quality of life for those who sacrificed so much for our country.”

Nonprofit organizations or municipalities that currently offer specific programs to and for the benefit of veterans of the United States Armed Forces in Dutchess County are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to entities that do not already contract with Dutchess County to provide services to veterans.
