WEST NYACK – A 51-year-old Bloomingburg woman has been arrested on charges of grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property following the theft of items from the 9/11 Education Foundation tent in Germonds Park in West Nyack.
Following an investigation by Clarkstown Police, Shannon Morris was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
She was arraigned and released without bail pending a future court appearance.
Police said she has no affiliation with the foundation.
“Just weeks after the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the crime was perpetrated on a family and organization that has not only lost their family members but fights to keep all the victims of that fateful day in our thoughts,” a statement from the police read.
Items stolen included sports memorabilia, watches and other property.
