Task force catches another drug dealer related to March raid

Suspected fentanyl dealer Shaquille Heirs

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A March 7 raid on a drug house on South Clinton Street in the City of Poughkeepsie resulted in the apprehension of Parrish Beverly, a suspected major drug dealer, and identified another suspected major fentanyl dealer; Shaquille Heirs.  On Thursday, Dutchess County Drug Task Force agents apprehended the 29-year-old City of Poughkeepsie resident after locating him in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

On April 25 the agents took Heirs into custody without incident and charged him with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.  He was arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

“The Dutchess County Drug Task Force agents continue to investigate complaints of dangerous drugs like fentanyl and cocaine being sold in Dutchess County,” said the unit’s coordinator, Detective Sergeant Adam Harris.

The task force was assisted by the County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Division and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department during the investigation leading to the arrest of Heirs.
