GOSHEN – Long-time Orange County Legislator Katie Bonelli of Blooming Grove, most recently the Republican majority leader, now takes over as chairwoman with the sudden resignation of Chairman Stephen Brescia of Montgomery.
Bonelli said one topic will consume much of the time in the coming months.
“We are going into budget time throughout the month of October and that is a primary task of all legislators to be able to go through the budget and adopt it by December. We have our work cut out for us and we have the gameplan there,” she said.
The annual budget is proposed by the county executive and presented to the lawmakers for their review.
