POUGHKEEPSIE – Democrat Rachel Saunders, Tuesday, filed her election petitions with the Dutchess County Board of Elections to fun for family court judge.
She will face off against Republican Denise Watson.
Saunders said she is running for family court judge “because families in need deserve to be understood, respected, and treated with dignity.” She said she has “a fresh outlook on the crises affecting families, and I will always take the time to understand each family’s unique needs.”
Saunders has spent 20 years representing children, the mentally ill, and victims of domestic violence and most recently served as attorney in charge of the Dutchess County office of Legal Services of the Hudson Valley.
