NEWBURGH – A firefighter had to be taken to the hospital Saturday morning as crews battled a house fire at 1 Warden Circle in the City of Newburgh. He fell down an interior flight of steps, officials said.

The two-alarm fire is believed to have started in the garage and spread to the house and a boat parking in front of it.

Assisting the city were firefighters from the Air Guard at Stewart Airport, West Point and Coldenham.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but believed to be accidental.
