ALBANY- Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R, Deerpark) didn’t mince words when it came to his feelings on the newly-enacted state budget.  Calling the plan “failed” Brabenec blamed one-party rule and dysfunction for the plan he says won’t help New Yorkers.

“Our state budget expands annually, yet New Yorkers experience little improvement in their quality of life. It’s no surprise we lead in out-migration, rising costs and damaged roads,” he said.  “Our public safety is neglected while taxpayer funds favor illegal migrants in the billions of dollars in spending.”

Brabenec, who also serves as the Minority Whip in the Assembly, lamented the influence special interests have in the legislative process and called for change.

“In yet another failed budget under one-party rule, hardworking New Yorkers take a back seat to special interests,” he said.  “Change in leadership is desperately needed to stop the further decline of the once great Empire State.”
