SAUGERTIES – A Saugerties man has been arrested and charged with menacing and criminal mischief after he allegedly banged and hacked at a woman’s front door with a machete during a domestic dispute.

The incident occurred on Sawmill Road in the Town of Saugerties at around 2:12 p.m. on February 1, town police allege.

Antonio Giordano, 41, was located later at his residence on Sawmill Road and taken into custody. The machete used in the incident was recovered.

As a result of an issue with connectivity for a virtual arraignment, Giordano was released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
