LIBERTY – Sullivan BOCES will be moving out of the current offices at 6 Wierk Avenue in Liberty, which it has occupied for 21 years, and will be moving to the former Sullivan’s Department Store, also in Liberty.

The transition will take place over a six-month period with the full shift by mid-2020.

District Superintendent Dr. Robert Dufour said the newly leased space will allow for more options for programs and administration. “The new facility is an open floor plan which allows us a lot more flexibility,” he said, noting the current offices are a compilation of several buildings that had been interconnected by causeways so even though it is 9,000 square feet, it is not all usable square feet.  The new facility will be about 11,000 square feet.

The new location has now been dubbed the Liberty Mall and while there are a few tenants in the facility, Dufour said it is hoped that the presence of BOCES as an anchor will attract even more tenants.
