CARMEL – The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has arrested
a 34-year-old Brewster man on 10 felony counts of possessing an obscene
performance by a child.
The arrest of Shawn Waters, who is a registered sex offender, came after
an investigation by members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation into
the online possession of images of child sexual abuse material.
Deputies executed a search warrant at Waters’ apartment at 29 Oak
Street on December 13 and seized an electronic device with images and
videos of obscene performances by children.
Waters was remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash
bail or $50,000 bond.
