Dutchess County man charged with vehicular manslaughter in I-90 crash

EAST GREENBUSH – A Poughquag man is one of two who have been charged with vehicular manslaughter in connection with a fatal crash on I-90 in the Town of East Greenbush on Saturday afternoon.
Initial investigation by State Police at the scene found that August Rice, 23, of Rexford was eastbound on I-90 when he struck a vehicle causing it to cross the median into the westbound lanes where it was struck by a car driven by Rex Tucker-Moss, 41, of Poughquag.
The driver of the car struck by both vehicles was killed. The victim’s identity was not immediately released pending notification of relatives.
Rice and Tucker-Moss were determined to have been intoxicated and that Tucker-Moss was driving with two children, ages 10 and seven, in the car.
Tucker-Moss was arrested for vehicular manslaughter, two counts of aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law for having children in the car, DWI and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was sent to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or bond.
Rice was arrested for vehicular manslaughter, DWI, driving while ability impaired by drugs and moving from the lane unsafely. He is in the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or bond.
