Full house for the last regular season home game of the Vipers.

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Hudson Valley Vipers, a minor league hockey team, skated to victory in the last regular season home game on Saturday night.  The team, playing its inaugural season, has been drawing a sellout, standing-room-only crowd to the McCann Ice Arena in Poughkeepsie for most of the season as word spread of the team.

On Saturday night, the Vipers dominated the North Shore Nighthawks by a score of 16-6, clinching second place in the 12-team league.  A playoff game is on the horizon.  Depending on the outcome of a game next week, the playoff game may take place in Poughkeepsie at McCann Ice Arena; home of the Vipers.
