Almost a quarter-million in state funding for area women’s health, safety and wellness

ALBANY – State Senator William Larkin secured $235,000 for the Hudson Valley Cancer Resource Center, Safe Homes of Orange County and Cornerstone Family Healthcare.
Safe Homes will receive $50,000 for major renovations to its current shelter used to house women who were victims of domestic violence. The agency will also receive $60,000 for domestic violence programs to promote general wellness and safety.
Hudson Valley Cancer Resource Center will receive a $25,000 women’s health-cancer services grant to support education and outreach programs including free cancer survivorship programs for both cancer patients and their parents.
Cornerstone Family Healthcare will receive $100,000 to assist in their efforts to provide quality healthcare to residents throughout the Hudson Valley.
