MONTICELLO – As Resorts World Catskills continues its build-out, it looks to hire even more employees.
The casino-resort opened early this year with 1,500 staffers, but they need even more, said Executive Vice President Charles Degliomini.
“It was part of our original hiring plan. We need 2,000 employees to activate our entire building,” he said. “Now that all of our restaurants are open, all of our amenities are online and most of our hotel rooms are open, our original plan was to get 2,000 people in. Currently we have 1,500; we are out there recruiting 500 more.”
Resorts World Catskills will hold three job fairs – at SUNY New Paltz, on Monday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the Multipurpose Room at the Student Union Building; on Friday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the same location; and on Tuesday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at American Legion Post 151 at 185 Wawayanda Avenue in Middletown.
Resorts World Catskills is looking to hire full- and part-time employees in all aspects of gaming, food and beverage, hospitality, security and other jobs.
In the last two months, Sullivan County has topped the state in new jobs created, by increasing employment by 9.8 percent, largely because of the casino hiring.
