Whose pot went up in smoke remains under investigation

MARLBORO – Firefighters discovered an alleged marijuana grow house when responding to a reported structure fire at 212 Bingham Road in Marlboro Wednesday afternoon.
Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that a raised ranch was on fire and requested additional assistance from the Milton and Middle Hope fire departments.
First responders also requested Central Hudson to cut power to the structure
to aid in extinguishing the fire.  After power was terminated, firefighters
discovered that lights were still on.  During the search of the burning
building, firefighters discovered several marijuana plants growing in
the two second-floor bedrooms.  Further search led to the discovery
of a basement filled with potted pot plants about five to six feet tall.
The blaze was extinguished and law enforcement agencies were notified of the discovery.  Police were at the scene Wednesday evening awaiting a search warrant to conduct their investigation.
