POUGHKEEPSIE – Some 600 seniors at Vassar College graduated on Sunday during the Town of Poughkeepsie college’s 154th commencement.
Graduates came from 47 states and 29 foreign countries or US territories. Six were military veterans.
The most common majors of the grads were political science, economics, biology, math, and computer science.
There were 94 varsity athletes; two were named All-Americans and 15 were named to league all-star teams.
Four students were awarded Fulbright Fellowships for study or teaching abroad and two received post-graduate research fellowships from the National Science Academy.
Five graduates will be attending medical school.
Elsewhere in Dutchess County, commencement was held at Bard College.
