Port Jervis man arrested in city stabbing

PORT JERVIS – A 25-year-old Port Jervis man has been arrested in
connection with a stabbing in that city at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Police were called to the area of East Main and Delaware streets for a
report of a stabbing and found a 29-year-old man suffering from a severe
wound to the abdomen.

He was transported in a patrol car to Bon Secours Community Hospital for
emergency treatment and transferred to Orange Regional Medical Center
in the Town of Wallkill where he is in stable condition, Police Chief
William Worden said Monday.

Jonathan Taylor of Port Jervis was located and charged with felony assault
and a misdemeanor of criminal possession of a weapon.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $15,000
bail.

Police did not say what precipitated the incident.
