WHITE PLAINS – Federal authorities have settled a lawsuit filed in 2016 against a Westchester County developer over violations of the Fair Housing Act.
Under the settlement, Ginsburg Development Companies has agreed to make retrofits to two apartment complexes in Haverstraw – the Riverside and the Parkside, which together contain more than 200 rental units – to make them more accessible to people with disabilities.
Ginsburg Development also committed to establish procedures to ensure that its future residential development projects comply with the accessibility requirements of the Fair Housing Act.
The settlement also requires Ginsburg to provide up to $125,000 to compensate aggrieved persons and to pay a civil penalty of $50,000.
