Zenker
CATSKILL – A 23-year-old Coxsackie man has been charged with arson
for allegedly setting fire to a barn at 73 Cold Spring Road in the Town
of Coxsackie on Monday, April 8.
It is alleged that Evan Zenker broke into the barn and set it on fire.
The flames spread to and damaged a vehicle.
A neighbor spotted Zenker running from the scene. During the search of
the area, troopers spotted him three miles away on Green Lake Road in
the Town of Athens.
When he saw the officers, he fled into an occupied house where he was
found hiding. He fought with police who placed him under arrest.
Zenker was charged with felonies of arson and burglary and misdemeanors
of criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
He was remanded to the Greene County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000
bond.
