ALBANY – The name of East Fishkill Town Police Sergeant Daniel DiDato has been added to the New York State Police Officers Memorial at the Empire State Plaza in Albany.

The annual Remembrance Ceremony was held on Tuesday.

DiDato was responding to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla to continue an investigation when he was involved in a single vehicle crash on the Taconic State Parkway. He died on December 18, 2023, from the injuries he sustained in the crash.

“Sgt. DiDato’s commitment to duty and unwavering dedication to the safety of his community exemplify the true spirit of heroism,” said Assemblyman Anil Beephan. “His name will forever be exalted among those who bravely served and selflessly gave their lives in the line of duty. May we never forget his sacrifice and his legacy.”

Also attending the remembrance ceremony was Senator Rob Rolison, a retired detective with the Poughkeepsie Town Police Department.
