Mendez-Huales

NEW CITY – A Village of Airmont man was sentenced in Rockland County Court to 20 years to life in state prison following a jury trial that found him guilty of one count each of predatory sexual assault against a child and course of sexual conduct against a child.
Domingo Mendez-Huales, 39, was also sentenced to one year for endangering the welfare of a child as a misdemeanor.
Rockland District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said Mendez-Huales was a friend of the family of the victim and used that friendship “to take advantage of an innocent child for his own sexual gratification.”
On several occasions between September 1, 2015 and May 14, 2017, he repeatedly sexually assaulted a none-year-old girl in Airmont. The victim and Mendez-Huales share a family relationship.
Trial testimony included that of the victim, who is now 11, and her mother.
