Deaf man struck, seriously injured crossing Middletown street -Update!

MIDDLETOWN – A pedestrian who was crossing the street at North Street and Wickham Avenue in Middletown early Sunday evening, was seriously injured and a close friend, who was on the scene told Mid-Hudson News he is deaf.
The 57-year-old victim, known to friends as Santos of Middletown, was
transported to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening head
injury, police said.
The woman said she believes the driver ran a red light, but that could
not be immediately confirmed by police.
The driver of the 2015 Honda CR-V, a 68-year-old Middletown, remained
at the scene. No charges have been filed and no summonses have been issued.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing with assistance
from the State Police.
