WHITE PLAINS – Federal authorities have charged a woman with sex trafficking of a minor, which carries a sentence of from 10 years to life in prison. She also faces a charge of use of interstate facilities to promote a prostitution enterprise.
Jennifer Coviello, 43, allegedly operated a commercial sex business out of a motel in Putnam County, where she arranged for customers to meet her and have sex for cash with a 17-year-old girl, who she maintained was over 18. Coviello kept the bulk of the profits from the sex acts.
According to the complaint, Coviello posted online ads soliciting prostitution customers for herself and the victim. When Coviello received inquiries in response to the ads, she emailed and sent by text message photos of the underage girl, including nude and partially nude photographs for about a week. During the week she operated in Putnam, Coviello provided the victim with illegal drugs, including heroin.
