WASHINGTON – Over $1.3 million in federal funding has been secured by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for a flood mitigation project in the Town of Greenburgh.

The grant will be used to fund the elevation of six homes in the Babbitt Court area to two feet above the base flood elevation to reduce the risks to homeowners and their belongings during severe weather.

The funding was provided by FEMA.

“The families who live on Babbitt Court have experienced enormous property damages every time there is a storm,” said Town Supervisor Paul Feiner. “Uplifting their homes will enable residents to enjoy their homes when weather is bad – without  having to worry about major property damages.”
