TOWN OF ULSTER – The victim of a train-pedestrian fatal in the Town of Ulster on Tuesday was a 32-year-old Ulster County woman, Police Chief Kyle Berardi said Wednesday. He did not publicly identify her.
The chief said the investigation indicates the incident was a suicide.
The woman was killed by a CSX locomotive shortly after 1 p.m. on tracks off Route 9W near Tractor Supply.
The northbound train, heading from New Jersey to Michigan, consisted of two locomotives and 89 empty car carriers.
