Neuhaus, second from right, lining up more endorsements

CHESTER – Multiple Democratic elected officials in Orange County,
Monday, crossed party lines and endorsed Republican County Executive Steven
Neuhaus.
Middletown City Council President Miguel Rodrigues and County Legislator Curlie Dillard of Newburgh both announced their support for the incumbent executive.
Rodrigues said Neuhaus has put politics aside to work toward extending the Heritage trail into Middletown.
“As a result, he created jobs, provided a family friendly city for our residents. Steve listens and cares about the City of Middletown,” Rodrigues said.
Dillard said Neuhaus cares about all people – “whether it
is feeding hungry children, creating better job opportunities or protecting
the vulnerable citizens in our communities.”
Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, a Republican and president of the Orange County Association of Supervisors and Mayors, who ran against Neuhaus four years ago, said Neuhaus and his administration have turned the county around. “Spending has decreased, our tax rate is lower, and thousands of jobs have been created,” Sweeton said. “Orange County is moving in the right direction and under Steve’s leadership I know many more bright days are ahead of us.”
Neuhaus is being challenged by Democrat Patrick Davis.
