SAUGERTIES – A Saugerties
man was killed Thursday morning when his pickup truck struck a tree and
went down an embankment.
Police said Carl Miles, 65, was driving south on John Joy Road in Saugerties
in a 2009 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with a trailer attached when the
truck crossed lanes, struck a tree and crashed down the hill.
Miles, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
Saugerties Police were assisted by members of Diaz Ambulance, Centerville
Fire and Woodstock fire departments and State Police.
