Rep. Faso: “Freedom is not free”

POUGHKEEPSIE – Remembering the words of President Andrew Jackson
that “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty,” Congressman
John Faso addressed the annual 9/11 memorial service in Poughkeepsie on
Monday morning.

Faso said the nation mourns and salutes those who were killed in the terrorist
attacks 16 years ago.

And he said that many of us remember that fateful day and where we were
when the planes struck the Twin Towers.

“It is remarkably like the stories we hear from people who remember
where they were when they first had news of the Japanese attack on Pearl
Harbor, or where you were if you are old enough, as am I, the day President
Kennedy was assassinated. All of us remember those fateful days in our
nation’s history,” he said.
Faso said it is important, especially in this day and age, to teach our
children the values of America.
